Introduction

Needle-punched geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) is a woven fabric like material primarily used for the lining of landfills, anti-seepage of artificial lake waterscape, underground garage, roofing garden, water tank, oil depot and chemical pile yard. It is a kind of geomembrane and geosynthetic which incorporates a bentonite, which has a very low hydraulic conductivity. By needle embroidering

method, it can form many small fiber spaces, which prevent bentonite particles from moving in one

direction, and rubber head water layer with uniform high density is formed in the liner when meeting water. The resulting lower permeability slows the rate of seepage out of the landfill.

Attentions:

Storage: GCL material should be stored in well-ventilated place and avoid being exposed to the sun or rain;

Not suitable for seepage proofing of strong acid or alkali solution;

When performing the next step or adjacent construction, artificial damage should not be occurred to GCL in completed area;

Materials should not be stamped by spikes, high-heel shoes, or grinded by heavy machines like truck;

Construction should not be carried out in raining or snow climate.
