Q: What is tempered glass?

A: Tempered glass is made of float glass which is firstly heated to softening point nearby then rapidly cooled down by air, to enable even compression stress on the glass surface. During the instant cooling procession, external glass is solidified because of the rapid freezing. And as internal glass cools down slowly and would make surface of glass produce compression stress.

Meanwhile, internal glass produces tensile stress which further makes mechanical strength of glass up to double increment and to be with good thermal stability.

ZNG tempered glass features

1. Safety: tempered glass is safety and don’t easy to be broken. Broken glass particle is of honeycomb shape with obtuse angles which won’t cause severe hurt to human body.

2. High intensity: Compared with float glass of the same thickness, impact strength of tempered glass is higher by 3-5 times.

3. Thermal stability: Thermal stability of tempered glass is 3 times higher than float glass of same thickness. Tempered glass can withstand sudden temperature shift from 220°C to 250°C, while float glass can only bear from 70°C-100°C.

4. Big deflection angle: Deflection angle of tempered glass is 3-4 times larger than that of float glass of same thickness. When there is load on tempered glass, its maximum tensile stress does not located on the glass surface, but float glass is on the central point of glass sheet.

What kind of buildings need tempered glass?

ZNG Tempered glass is a safety glass, extensively applied in the places which has critical request of high mechanical strength and safety, such as glass door, curtain wall of buildings, indoor partition, elevator, showcase, door and windows.

What types of tempered glass ZNG can produce?

1. ZNG Tempered glass can be clear, tinted, color glazed, heat-reflective coated, Low-e, insulated and laminated glass etc.

2. ZNG Tempered glass color can be clear, ultra-white, various green, blue, grey and brown.

3. Maximum size of tempered glass: 2440mm X 6000mm, minimum size is 200x300mm

4. Thickness of ZNG tempered glass range from 4mm to 19mm

3. Passed Chinese safety Glass compulsory Certification (CCC)
