Installation Methods

Disposal of sub grades

1. The sub grades must be tamped before paving the GCLs, the surface should be smooth. And it should not have the obvious hollow space.

2. The surface should be dry.

3. The minimum angle of land surface exposed to the sun should be more than 30cm.

4. The construction of GCLs should be begin until checking out the foundation

Preparation before paving the GCLs

  1. Drawing the GCLs paving order
  2. Examining the GCLs appearance quality
  3. The construction of GCLs should be processed under the weather with no rain and snow

GCLs paving

  1. When paving the GCLs, it can use the machine and also the manpower.
  2. Paving the GCLs according to the stated order and way.
  3. Paving the GCLs, seaming overlapping between mat and mat should be staggered.
  4. There should not be sand and soil, hydrocele and so on impurity, to avoid affecting on the over lapping quality.
  5. To avoid the GCLs gliding, had best to fix it with nails when installing in vertical and

Backfill

  1. GCLs paved must be backfilled on the day.
  2. The sand or the sifted soil is the best choice, and the soil should not have impurity with
    more than10mm.
  3. The soil must be tamped every backfilling 50cm, and the degree of density should be more than 85%.
  4. Pay attention to the GCLs when tamping, it can not be damaged.
  5. When backfilling in the planar surface, the thickness should be 30cm at least.
