Composition

Product based on high resistance cement, selected aggregates, additives and synthetic resins which ensure water proofing, transpiration, open time and bonding capacity.

Field of application:

Setting up of protection reinforced layer, the function of this product is to protect the rockwool and fix the mesh.

The finishing coat can be tile or plaster.

Features and applications

  • Bonding of insulation glass fibre or rock wool panels.
  • Excellent adherence to hold the insulation weight.
  • Rainwater proof and permeable to water vapour.
  • Easy to apply.

Protection mortar is spread over the surface of boards by a metal trowel, thickness of the layer should be 2-4 cm. Vertical strips of reinforcement glass-mesh are put over applied mixture and are sunk in the mixture by a trowel handle. The strips must overlap not less than 10 cm. The second 2-3 mm layer of adhesive is applied and smoothed over the mesh so that to hide it.

Application of further materials (decorative plasters, special paints, etc) can be done in 2-3 days after setting up of this protection layer

Further work (mechanical fixing by dowels, setting up of reinforced protection layer) is conducted in 48 hours after the insulation material is glued to the surface by the adhesive

Base preparation

Basis surface must be cleaned from dust, mud, oils, fats. Friable, flimsy patches must be removed. Uneven surface, cracks, blowholes, cavities must be filled and levelled

Substrates

  • Conventional cement and brickwork based substrates.
  • Substrates must be resistant, stable, sound and clean, free of dust, demolding agents, organic products, etc.
  • In case of hot or windy weather conditions or when applying over absorbent substrates, it is advisable to wet the substrate and wait till the thin layer of water disappears.

Mixing of mortar

Dry mix is poured into a mixing bucket with clean water in proportion of 1 kg of dry mix per 0,23 l of water, then thoroughly stirred manually or with the help of mixing drill, until homogeneous, elastic mixture. The mixture is left for 5 minutes and then stirred again. Prepared mixture should be used within 2 — 2,5 hours

Instructions for use

  • Specially designed to be applied with mortar pumping machines. Set the optimum proportion of water/ according to the chosen machine (section and hose length) and external weather conditions. Start with 1 to 4 ratio and modify gradually until you achieve the appropriate consistency.
  • For manual application add water and mix by hand or mechanically until it has an even and workable consistency. Spread on the substrate.
  • The recommended application thickness varies from 3 to 5 mm.
  • When the mortar is still fresh, lay the insulation by applying normal pressure, making sure no gaps are left between panels.
  • Proceed with the interior brickwork.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply below 5ºC nor above 35ºC.
  • Do not apply when there is a risk of frost, rain, strong wind or direct sunlight.
  • Do not apply on gypsum or derivatives.
